Nothing beats a strong, mood setting soundtrack to bring the best out of a movie. It could be a brooding, ominous score to a horror movie, an Ennio Morricone spaghetti western theme, or a synthwave science fiction score. No matter what the movie is, the soundtrack is key.
We see a few excellent soundtracks pass through our hands here, and below are just some of the latest arrivals. You can view our entire selection in our store now.
Beat Girl: Wonderful rare 1960 UK 18-track mono LP on the green & gold Columbia label, featuring Barry’s fantastic score to the film about late-fifties youth-rebellion, starring Adam Faith in his debut film role alongside starlet Gillian Hills. This was the first British soundtrack album to be released on an LP. The front laminated flipback picture sleeve features Gillian Hills, Adam Faith & Shirley Anne Field on the front & on many tunes on the record too. Thesleeve shows light discolouration to the unlaminated reverse and some minor edge scuffing resulting in a little laminate loss, but otherwise very little shelfwear & the vinyl remains excellent with just a few light signs of play
Alien: Sealed 1979 first US issue 10-track LP, featuring Jerry Goldsmith’s score to the classic Ridley Scott movie, including the titles ‘The Face Hugger’, ‘Acid Test’ & ‘The Droid’, with Lionel Newman conducting The National Philharmonic Orchestra. The picture sleeve has no deletion cuts & this ideal collector’s copy remains factory sealed from new, the vinyl mint & unplayed, just don’t burst your chest over it!
El Topo: Rare 1971 US 18-track LP featuring the music to the surreal film by Alexandro Jodorowsky, gatefold picture sleeve with integral four page booklet. The sleeve shows a couple of scuffs to the edges but otherwise remain in very nice condition indeed as this copy has managed to stay factory sealed for the last forty years & is therefore still mint & unplayed.
