The Miles Davis Quintent – Cookin‘: Stunning & historic archive quality 1957 US 5-track mono vinyl LP, on the famous ‘fireworks’ black & yellow Prestige label with ‘W. 50th St. N.Y.C.’ address & a ‘deep groove’ in the label both sides. ‘RVG’ [Rudy Van Gelder] is stamped in both the run-outs & ‘AB’ is engraved one side [Abbey Manufacturing]. The edge of the run-ins have a slight raised edge, pasted picture sleeve. See ‘more info’ for details of why this incredibly rare pressing is the one to own.

Chet Baker & Art Pepper Sextet – Picture Of Heath: Rare 1961 US 7-track deep groove mono LP on a black & silver Pacific Jazz label, the classic meeting between the two giants of the West Coast ‘cool school’, first released in 1956 under the title Playboys. Also features the talents of Phil Urso on Tenor, Carl Perkins on Piano, Curtis Counce on Bass & Lawrence Marable on Drums, great picture sleeve variant. The heavy card sleeve has a 6″ hairline split along the top which has been neatly tape reinforced, & the panels are in Excellent condition with no writing or wear that upsets the print. The vinyl appears practically Near Mint with minimal sign of play at all.

Jaco Pastorius – The 60th Anniversary Collection: 2011 Japanese promotional sample issue of the limited edition 6-CD box set, issued to radio stations and reviewers ahead of the actual release. Featuring the remastered five original albums ‘Word of Mouth’, ‘Twins I’, ‘Twins II’, ‘Invitation’ and ‘The Birthday Concert’ plus the bonus disc with unreleased tracks compiled by Peter Erskine. Also comes with a <b>one-eighth scale miniature Jaco Pastorius model bass guitar which is manufactured and authenticated by Fender USA plus a 72-page booklet with liner notes by Peter Erskine with unreleased photos and more, each album comes in a mini replica LP style gatefold card picture sleeve all housed in a 5½” x 5½” x 2½” promo stickered box.

Sidney Bechet – The Complete Blue Note Recordings: Limited Edition 1985 US mail order only Mosaic SIX LP box set, gathering all of Bechet’s recordings for the label including three songs with the Port of Harlem Seven, two blues with guitarist Josh White, & Bechet’s sessions from 1940, ’44-46, ’49, ’50-51 & ’53 in which he shared the frontline with such trumpeters as Sidney DeParis, Max Kaminsky, Bunk Johnson, Wild Bill Davison & Jonah Jones. Comes housed in a beautifully presented monochrome 12″ box with individually numbered LP sized booklet, featuring stunning black & white session photographs & extensive liner notes. The lift-off lid packaging was only ever held together via a pasted paper spine, which has split from top to bottom. Otherwise the box is Excellent with few signs of its age & the vinyl discs appear near mint.
