Ain’t nothing but a jazz thing here at eil.com this week with a vast array of top jazz rare vinyl and CDs coming through the doors, here’s a few to whet your jazz whistle, see them all in our Jazz collectors store.
Weather Report – Domino Theory: 1984 Japanese Mastersound 7-track audiophile LP, digitally mastered & pressed on heavyweight vinyl, housed in a deluxe picture sleeve with series die-cut inner, fold-out insert & obi-strip. The packaging is Excellent with some minor storage wear & the vinyl appears Excellent to Near Mint with few signs of play
Elton Dean – Elton Dean: Scarce 1971 UK 5-track vinyl LP on the plain orange CBS label, with Phil Howard, Neville Whitehead and fellow ex-Soft Machine members Mike Ratledge, Roy Babbington and Marc Charig, recorded live at advision studios, picture sleeve with CBS Tony Bennett inner. The sleeve shows minimal wear and the vinyl appears barely played
Miles Davis – Bitches Brew: Classic & still controversial 1970 UK first issue plain orange label 6-track double LP, featuring recordings whose very sound, production methods, album-cover art, & two-LP length all signalled that jazz could never be the same again. The gatefold matte sleeve is the beautiful Mati Klarwein designed first issue cover. The sleeve has very little wear, whilst the vinyl has a couple of light spindle marks to indicate play. Just brilliant
