The advent of CD’s seemed like the death knell for vinyl during the ‘90s. That was only made worse by file sharing becoming popular as the decade came to a close and edged into the early ‘00s. We now know that vinyl would have an unprecedented resurgence in later years, which has led to collectors desperately seeking out original pressings from the ‘90s. Those rare Creation records pressings that shaped alternative music as we know it today, the rare pressings of iconic grunge records that are white whales for many, and weird and wonderful electronic music are always popular with completists.
Finding original ‘90s pressings is hard for anyone, ourselves included, but it does happen, and we have great stock of some rarities over at eil.com now.
OASIS [What’s The Story] Morning Glory? (Original 1995 UK first press 13-track double vinyl LP, the second studio album by the English rock band including the classic singles Some Might Say, Roll With It, Morning Glory, Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back In Anger and Champagne Supernova; within a tri-fold picture sleeve [with the lyrics printed across the inside] with glossy black inners. The sleeve displays only light creasing to the bottom corner [minimal] with a seam split to one of the die-cut inners, the vinyl has only a few lightsurface scuffs and hairlines. THE CRANBERRIES Everybody Else Is Doing It So Why Can’t We? (1993 UK limited edition 12-track audiophile LP, housed in a fully textured plain black card sleeve with the large picture/tracklist sticker attached as well as the circular hype sticker, complete with black die-cut inner & CD-sized lyric picture booklet. The sleeve displays minimal wear & the vinyl shows very few signs of play. A really nice one owner example of this hard to find 90s pressing! ILPS8003).
SUEDE Suede (In Demand 1993 UK first press 11-track LP, their classic debut album including So Young, Animal Nitrate, Metal Mickey & The Drowners, housed in the original glossy picture sleeve complete with lyric inner. The sleeve is Excellentwith just the odd faint paper mark over the years & the vinyl has a few light scuffs/hairlines not affecting play. Essential 90s Indie/Britpop! NUDE1LP).
