Gentle Giant release new video for Spooky Boogie

From Loudersound.

Prog legends Gentle Giant are getting in the Halloween spirit with  a new video for Spooky Boogie, which you can watch below.

The instrumental originally featured on the band’s 1978 album Giant For A Day, the band’s penultimate album before they split up in 1980 following the release of Civilian.

The new video has been directed and edited by Noah Shulman, the son of lead singer Derek, and the man largely responsible for the band’s recent rise in profile. It was Noah who got the band to reunite, albeit via the Internet, for the lockdown Proclamation video.

Gentle Giant have recently also released videos for TalybontHis Last Voyage and Free Hand.

At the same time Gentle Giant have adde two new items to their merchandise range, a new t-shirt and hoodie featuring the iconic Giant face as well as the classic band logo. Items will start shipping mid-end of November.

Pre-order merchandise.

GENTLE GIANT Acquiring The Taste (1971 first UK issue 8-track vinyl LP on the Vertigo 'swirl' label. This album took the band into more experimental & darker areas but is still their own recognisable sound - a rich blend of hard rock & orchestration - with hints of influences from King Crimson & Van Der Graaf Generator, housed in a gatefold picture sleeve with the poly lined 'swirl' die-cut inner. The sleeve displays some minor general wear with some edge & corner scuffing, and hassome strange blank ink marks on the back, but still pretty damn good considering it was never laminated. The labels have a few light spindle marks and light signs of age, whilst the vinyl has only a few light signs of play. Overall a Very Good example, making an ideal play copy)

  • Gentle Giant - In A Glass House - White Label Test Pressing - UK - vinyl LP - £125.00, $151.25, €140.00 (Back In Stock) (arrived 26-Jan-2023 16:00)

GENTLE GIANT In A Glass House (Rare 1973 UK white label test pressing for the 6-track LP. With plain labels, housed in a title-stamped plain die-cut paper sleeve. The vinyl shows minimal wear, with a nice clear sheen. A great collectable for arguably Gentle Giant's finest record WWA002)

  • Gentle Giant - In A Glass House - EX - UK - vinyl LP - £125.00, $151.25, €140.00 (New Item) (arrived 26-Jan-2023 15:40)

GENTLE GIANT In A Glass House (1973 UK first press 6-track LP on the black & silver WWA label [this album did not come out on the Vertigo swirl label in the UK], for many their finest record. Comes housed in a striking die-cut textured sleeve complete with PVC window, art print card insert. Because the textured sleeves were never laminated they were prone to storage wear with age, however this one has suffered only minor shelfwear and is overall in fantastic condition for its styleandage. The vinyl too is nice & clean & shows only minor cosmetic evidence of light play, a great copy of this Prog rock gem! WWA002)

  • Gentle Giant - Gentle Giant - 2nd - EX - UK - vinyl LP - £75.00, $90.75, €84.00 (New Item) (arrived 26-Jan-2023 15:36)

GENTLE GIANT Gentle Giant (Mid 70s UK second issue of the debut 1970 7-track LP on the 'spaceship' Vertigo label, the innovative first album from the Shulman brothers & co, including the big-riff laden opener, Giant, & staple, longterm live set regulars, Funny Ways & Isn't It Quiet And Cold, featuring the late, first drummer Martin Smith, housed in the brilliant 'Giant with band in hands' gatefold picture sleeve. The sleeve shows just a little light general wear with light scuffingto the spine, whilst the vinyl has light scuffs on side one, which have no real impact on play)

  • Gentle Giant - Free Hand - 1st + Insert - EX - UK - vinyl LP - £35.00, $42.35, €39.20 (New Item) (arrived 26-Jan-2023 15:33)

GENTLE GIANT Free Hand (1975 UK green Chrysalis label 7-track vinyl LP, the highest charting album in the US from the UK prog rockers and is regarded by many as the band's peak, picture sleeve. The sleeve has a little shelfwear to the edges and comes complete with the illustrated lyric card insert, whilst the vinyl remains in excellent condition with little sign of play CHR1093)
