The advent of CD’s seemed like the death knell for vinyl during the ‘90s. That was only made worse by file sharing becoming popular as the decade came to a close and edged into the early ‘00s. We now know that vinyl would have an unprecedented resurgence in later years, which has led to collectors desperately seeking out original pressings from the ‘90s. Those rare Creation records pressings that shaped alternative music as we know it today, the rare pressings of iconic grunge records that are white whales for many, and weird and wonderful electronic music are always popular with completists.
Finding original ‘90s pressings is hard for anyone, ourselves included, but it does happen, and we have great stock of some rarities over at eil.com now.
TORI AMOS Under The Pink (1994 German 12-track vinyl LP, the second studio album by the singer-songwriter including Pretty Good Year, God and Cornflake Girl, single pocket picture sleeve with lyrics on the reverse. The sleeve displays just a little light general wear to the edges whilst the vinyl shows only light signs of play. A really nice example).
ROLLING STONES Voodoo Lounge (Rare 1994 UK 14-track double LP, the group’s twentieth British album which found ex-fusion bassist Darryl Jones brought into the fold, hype stickered gatefold picture sleeve with illustrated lyric inners. The sleeve is Excellent with minimal age wear [tiny spot of foxing on inside lip] & the vinyl is Excellent with some light cosmetic paper scuffs not affecting play. A nice, if not mint, example of this hard to fine nineties vinyl pressing V2750).
THE BEATLES Live At The BBC (Sealed limited edition 1994 US 69-track double vinyl LP, housed in a sepia tinted gatefold picture sleeve. This copy remains factory sealed from new, mint & unplayed!).
