For better or worse, the ‘90s will be remembered for a lot of iconic moments, but mostly it will be for the music. There was the rise of Brit Pop and the battle between Oasis and Blur, Nirvana bringing grunge to the mainstream and influencing an entire generation to wear a plaid shirt, the Spice Girls taking over the world, and Jarvis Cocker’s stage invasion during Michael Jackson’s performance at the Brit Awards.
While music was more popular than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.
We don’t always see that many collections of ‘90s vinyl here, but when we do, you can almost guarantee them to be of a high quality both in condition and content. Below are a few highlights we have in stock, and be sure to keep an eye on our latest arrivals.
DJ Shadow – Endtroducing…..: Classic original 1996 US 16-track double LP, single pocket picture sleeve with credit inners. Made with nothing but an Akai MPC60 MKII sampler, a record collection and a world of creative inspiration, Endtroducing isso much more than the sum of its parts and is funky and moody as hell too! The picture sleeve shows very little wear, there is a seam split to one of the inners and the vinyl looks barely played
Iron Maiden – Fear Of The Dark: Rare 1992 UK 12-track double LP with picture labels, complete with Merchandise insert, hype stickered gatefold picture sleeve featuring the ‘Eddie’ tree artwork by Melvin Grant. This was the first album not to feature artwork by Derek Riggs. The sleeve shows minimal shelfwear & the vinyl remains near ‘as new’ with little sign of play. A fantastic example of this 90s original pressing
Neil Young – Weld: Rare 1991 German 16-track double LP chronicling the Ragged Glory / Smell the Horse Tour, gatefold picture sleeve. The sleeve shows minimal shelfwear & the vinyl remains near ‘as new’ with few signs of play
