Dame Vera Lynn Passes Away, Aged 103

Dame Vera Lynn has passed away aged 103. She passed away this morning (June 18th) surrounded by her family.

“The family are deeply saddened to announce the passing of one of Britain’s best-loved entertainers at the age of 103,” her family said in a statement.

The singer and actress found fame for her performances during World War II, becoming ‘The Forces Sweetheart’. Her captivating song, We’ll Meet Again, helped life the spirits of soldiers during the war and is still popular to this day.

Lynn celebrated her 103rd birthday earlier this year, and released a new video for We’ll Meet Again, which included a new voiceover aimed at bolstering the British public during the coronavirus pandemic.
