Latest Memorabilia arrivals from Dinah Washington, Jethro Tull, Sam & Dave, and more

More often than not, those who spend a lifetime in the record industry will acquire a wide range of weird, wonderful and unusual memorabilia from the artists they worked with. That, along with items produced by artists and labels for general sale, makes up a lot of the memorabilia we come across here, and you could find something for your collection that you didn’t know existed before.

Check out these three hand-selected highlights below, and for our full range of what we have to offer head to eil.com

NADINE COHODAS Queen: The Life & Music Of Dinah Washington (2007 UK 559-page hardback book, the landmark biography of the brief, intensely lived life & soulful music of the great Dinah Washington. A gospel star at fifteen & discovered by jazzgreat Lionel Hampton at eighteen, Dinah’s cool vocals on record soon crossed over from the “race” music category to the pop & jazz charts. Known in her day as Queen of the Blues & Queen of the jukebox, Dinah was regarded as that rare “first take” artist, her studio recordings reflecting the same passionate energy she brought to the stage. The author also touches on some of the suffering & heartbreak Dinah experienced in her personal life, including her seven marriages, her penchant for clothes, cars, furs & diets & her famously feisty personality, drawing on extensive interviews with family members & newly discovered documents. Excellent condition with metallic effect dust jacket).
