For better or worse, the ‘90s will be remembered for a lot of iconic moments, but mostly it will be for the music. There was the rise of Brit Pop and the battle between Oasis and Blur, Nirvana bringing grunge to the mainstream and influencing an entire generation to wear a plaid shirt, the Spice Girls taking over the world, and Jarvis Cocker’s stage invasion during Michael Jackson’s performance at the Brit Awards.
While music was more popular than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.
We don’t always see that many collections of ‘90s vinyl here, but when we do, you can almost guarantee them to be of a high quality both in condition and content. Below are a few highlights we have in stock, and be sure to keep an eye on our latest arrivals.
OASIS Be Here Now (1997 UK limited edition 12-track double LP, including Stand By Me & All Around The World, housed in a deluxe gatefold picture sleeve with illustrated card lyric inners. The packaging & the vinyl discs remain in Near Mint condition with only the very lightest signs of shelf wear & play CRELP219).
PULP His ‘N’ Hers (Rare 1994 UK 10-track LP, the Britpop group’s breakthrough album, including Do You Remember The First Time, glossy picture sleeve with lyric inner. The sleeve & vinyl are in Excellent condition with only minor signsof wear & play ILPS8025).
SUPER FURRY ANIMALS Radiator (Rare 1997 UK 14-track double LP on Creation Records, including The International Language Of Screaming, Demons & Hermann Loves Pauline, picture sleeve with lyric inners. The sleeve [VG+] has a bit of ring wear bowing from storage & otherwise shows light shelf wear scuffing whilst the vinyl discs are near ‘as new’ CRELP214).
