Ric Ocasek from The Cars passes away at 75

Ric Ocasek of iconic new wave band, The Cars, has passed away at the age of 75.

No cause of death has been released at this time, but he was pronounced dead at his Manhattan home after his family called emergency services when he was unresponsive.

The Cars had several hits during the ’80s, including their iconic single, Drive. In more recent years, Ocasek has handled production for a number of bands including Weezer, Bad Religion, No Doubt, Motion City Soundtrack and more.
