Latest rare and collectable ’90s vinyl in stock, including GZA, Slayer, Nirvana and more

For better or worse, the ‘90s will be remembered for a lot of iconic moments, but mostly it will be for the music. There was the rise of Brit Pop and the battle between Oasis and Blur, Nirvana bringing grunge to the mainstream and influencing an entire generation to wear a plaid shirt, the Spice Girls taking over the world, and Jarvis Cocker’s stage invasion during Michael Jackson’s performance at the Brit Awards.

While music was more popular than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.

We don’t always see that many collections of ‘90s vinyl here, but when we do, you can almost guarantee them to be of a high quality both in condition and content. Below are a few highlights we have in stock, and be sure to keep an eye on our latest arrivals.

GZA – Liquid Swords: UK 1995 13-track double vinyl LP, the second solo outing from one of the founding members of the hugely influential Wu-Tang Clan, stuffed with Shogun Assassin samples and cited as the best individual work by a Wu-Tang member, picture sleeve with picture tracklisting inners. The sleeve is still in its hype-stickered shrinkwrap and the vinyl is comfortably Excellent with just the odd faint hairline – a great copy, not one to let slip by!

Slayer – Decade Of Aggression: Rare 1991 UK limited edition 21-track double LP, recorded live on tour 1990-91 in Lakeland, FL, Wembley Arena, London, and in San Bernardino, within an individually numbered stickered glossy picture sleeve complete with the mini booklet. The sleeve displays just a little light wear to the edges, the booklet remains flawless and the vinyl looks barely played. A fantastic example and the first we have seen in five years!

Nirvana – Incesticide: 1992 US Geffen limited edition 15-track BLUE marbled vinyl LP, picture sleeve with original inner. The stop gap compilation album between the multi-platinum selling Nevermind and swan song LPIn Utero, Incesticide comprises numerous B-sides, and rarities of Nirvana’s career, including covers of songs by The Vaselines & Devo. The sleeve is Excellent with some light ring wear [small edge split to inner] & minor colour fading at the bottom, whilst the vinyl appears barely played. A nice, if not mint, addition to any Nirvana collection
