ALBERT AYLER New York Eye & Ear Control: 1966 US three-part stereo LP on the New York based Avant-Garde & Free-Jazz label, ESP-Disk, recorded July 17th, 1964, by New York artist Michael Snow for use as the soundtrack to his film. Also stars Don Cherry, John Tchicai, Roswell Rudd, Gary Peacock & Sonny Murray, great pasted picture sleeve with label catalogue pictorial on the back. More info here

Embalo: Limited Edition 2008 Japanese 11-track mono LP pressed on 180gram Vinyl, a much in demand Brazilian Bossa Jazz record from 1964, including the now classic tune, Nebulosa, housed in a high quality deluxe picture sleeve replica of the original complete with Japanese insert & obi-strip, all near ‘as new’. This is the original ’60s instrumental version [no narration] of Stan’s Jazz Suite inspired by Dylan Thomas’s radio play, featuring the atmospheric & beautifully restraint ‘Starless & Bible Black’, one of the most perfect & evocative recordings ever committed to tape! BARNEY KESSEL To Swing Or Not To Swing: Long Out Of Print 1991 Japanese 11-track CD in the Masters Of Jazz series, originally released in 1955 & digitally remastered in mono, also starring Harry Edison, Bill Perkins, Jimmy Rowles, Al Hendrikson, Red Mitchell & Shelly Manne, with the picture sleeve replicating the original album’s artwork & complete with the obi-strip, more info here

ART PEPPER Meets The Rhythm Section: Classic 1957 first UK issue 9-track mono LP where Art ‘borrows’ the incredible rhythm section of Miles Davis – At the time, even Miles said; ‘I have the best rhythm section in the world’ – Red Garland on piano, Paul Chambers on bass & Philly Joe Jones on drums.
