Legoland Windsor’s painstakingly faithful recreation of the festival site includes portable toilets, real Worthy Farm mud and Kim Kardashian
There are less than 24 hours until the gates of Glastonbury open to its 175,000 attendees, but for those without a ticket this year, fear not: Lego has created its own mini version at Legoland Windsor, mud, bogs, backstage area and all.
Consisting of 10,000 Lego bricks, the miniscape took 720 hours to build, and includes a lump of real Worthy Farm mud, a VIP section, toilets and Lego versions of its headliners: Kanye West (with Kim Kardashian), Florence + the Machine and the Who’s Roger Daltrey, who can be seen on a 50cm high Pyramid stage based on the precise dimensions of the real thing.
“The Glastonbury festival has become such a British institution, it truly deserves a place here in Miniland,” Legoland spokesperson Lauren Moss said.
“The model-makers have had a huge amount of fun creating the scene and the festival team have been really helpful, giving us stage dimensions and sending a special consignment of Glastonbury mud fresh from the farm.
“We think guests are going to love the scene, which will remain a permanent feature here from today.”
