CENTIPEDE Septober Energy (1971 UK 4-track [4 long sides] stereo double LP, one of the biggest if not the biggest freeform gathering on record from Britain at the time, starring a large ensemble of 50+ musicians, including members of King Crimson, Soft Machine, Blossom Toes, Alan Skidmore’s group & Ian Carr with Nucleus. The album was arranged by pianist Keith Tippett and produced by Robert Fripp and is an epic journey into the outer regions of free form jazz. The mainly whitestickered gatefold title sleeve shows just a little light shelfwear with only minor discolouring/blemishes from handling and a little edge scuffing & the vinyl remains in excellent with few signs of play. A progressive milestone for the headstrong! NE.9).
RICOTTI & ALBUQUERQUE First Wind (1971 UK 10-track LP, the second release on the independent fringe label, Pegasus. Features the vibraphonist Frank Ricotti in partnership with Mike de Albuquerque on guitar & vocals, plus John Taylor on electric piano, Chris Lawrence on bass & drummer Trevor Tomkins of Gilgamesh [& cousin of Roy Budd]. The picture sleeve has some minor discolouration and a little ringwear, no rips or tears and all text clearly legible, the vinyl is Excellent with onlyvery minor signs of play. An overlooked Brit jazz-rock curio PEG2).
RED MITCHELL, BOB BROOKMEYER & ZOOT SIMS Happy Minors (1955 UK 7-track mono 10″ double-sided metal based ultra high-grade methyl cellulose lacquer acetate, with backing from Conte Candoli [trumpet], Claude Williamson [piano] & Stan Levey [drums]. The acetate has a Master Sound System manufacturing label both sides & comes housed in a stickered reference sleeve annotated with just the album title. See ‘more info’ for further details…).
