Having extensively toured mainland Europe throughout the February, March and April, the Godfather of British Blues will play a total of 15 headline shows in November 2019.
The 85th Anniversary Tour takes in Edinburgh, Newcastle, York, Guilford, Nottingham, London, Buxton, Bexhil, Cheltenham, Poole, St Albans, Cambridge, Manchester, Birmingham and Southend in the run-up to Mayall’s 86th birthday on 29th November.
Support at all dates will come from fast-rising blues virtuoso Connor Selby. Tickets go on sale from Planet Rock Ticketsat 9am on Friday 24th May.
Featuring collaborations with artists including Joe Bonamassa, Rush’s Alex Lifeson, Todd Rundgren and Steven Van Zandt, John Mayall’s latest studio album ‘Nobody Told Me’ was released in February.
Speaking at Planet Rockstock last December, Walter Trout heaped praise on his former John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers band mate.
“To this day I am star struck by John Mayall,” Walter told Paul Anthony. “He’s like a father to me, I played with him for five years, I toured the world with him, I made three albums with him, he’s appeared on four of my albums. I’m still in awe of the guy, of his accomplishments, his genius; he’s a musical genius and he’s I think underappreciated.
“If anybody should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame it’s him. Look who he started off – people always go Mick Taylor, Peter Green, Eric Clapton. (There’s) other guys they’re not even aware of, Simon Kirke and Andy Fraser from Free started with John Mayall.
“There’s just this amazing list of people that he has nurtured and taught and, y’know, I would say I’ve been at this for 50 years and the most fun I ever had at it was playing in his band.”

The first album from Mayall post-Bluesbreakers break-up, featuring the talents of a young Mick Taylor and the legendary Peter Green; comes in a front-laminated gatefold picture sleeve. The sleeve is showing some minor overall shelfwear. The vinyl is graded VG with a few surface marks & light scratches with play testing revealing just the odd surface noise. A very respectable play copy at a very advantageous price LK4972)

JOHN MAYALL'S BLUESBREAKERS Crusade (1967 UK 12-track deep groove mono LP on the red 'unboxed' Decca label with 'ffrr' logo, featuring a line-up with future Rolling Stone, Mick Taylor, John McVie & Keef Hartley, front laminated picture sleevewith pinched spine. The sleeve displays only light general wear with only a few light creases in the laminate and name annotation to the non-laminated back, whilst the vinyl has a few noticeable surface marks & light paper scuffs which are mostly cosmetic thanks to the high quality sixties press. A very nice VG+ example LK4890)

The sleeve shows some age related shelfwear with a name annotation to the unlaminated back & there is a shop sticker attached to the label on side one, while vinyl remains in VG+ condition with a number of light surface scuffs although none deep enough to affect play. An acceptable, if not mint, copy of this hard to find release LK4853)
