While music was more popular during the 90’s than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes almost obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.
We don’t always see that many collections of ‘90s vinyl here, but when we do, you can almost guarantee them to be of a high quality both in condition and content. Below are a few highlights we have in stock and be sure to keep an eye on the latest arrivals at eil.com.
CYPRESS HILL Black Sunday (Rare 1993 Dutch manufactured 14-track double vinyl LP, the uncensored version of the classic second album including Insane In The Brain and I Ain’t Goin’ Out Like That; printed inners with a glossy gatefold picture sleeve. The sleeve shows light shelfwear with edge scuffing and signs of discolouration to the inners, whilst the vinyl grades Excellent with light signs of play only)
SUEDE Suede (1993 UK first press 11-track LP, their classic debut album including So Young, Animal Nitrate, Metal Mickey & The Drowners, housed in the original glossy picture sleeve complete with lyric inner. The sleeve shows little of its age with just light general wear whilst he vinyl shows minimal signs of play. Essential 90s Indie/Britpop! NUDE1LP)
MY BLOODY VALENTINE Loveless (Classic original 1991 UK 11-track vinyl LP with hand-scratched matrices that read: CRELP-060-A5 DMM ASL TOWNHOUSE 3 MAX / CRELP-060-B5 DMM ASL TOWNHOUSE 3 MAX. One of the greatest examples of early nineties British guitar rock, with warm fuzzy guitar cascades over menacing sexy vocals and is also famous for ‘bankrupting’ Creation Records when Shields’ perfectionism resulted in long delays in the studio. The results were worth it!! The first pressing is still considered the best sounding version by hardcore fans. Glossy picture sleeve with illustrated inner. The sleeve is graded Very Good with some general wear to spine/edges, while the vinyl is Excellent with only light signs of wear/play. A very respectable copy offered at an advantageous price. Increasingly in demand & essential CRELP060)
