DOROTHY ASHBY Afro-Harping (1971 US 10-track vinyl LP on the red & orange Cadet label, originally released in 1968, once described as “One of the grooviest records ever”. Housed in a pasted picture sleeve with deletion notch cut on the bottom edge. The sleeve shows some general wear with a small amount of ring and corner wear, some light edge scuffing and a tiny chunk of paperloss on the pasted reverse due to the deletion cut. The vinyl however, remains in Excellent condition. With just a few very light cosmetic paper hairlines, not impacting play).
JOHN COLTRANE Lush Life (1961 UK first issue 5-track mono LP on the Esquire label, featuring different cover from the usual purple tinted artwork. Assembled from three separate recording sessions in 1957 & ’58, this is a wonderful collection of hard bop tunes which includes Coltrane’s masterful interpretation of the Billy Strayhorn title tune. The sleeve shows most of its more notable wear on the reverse with 3″ of the bottom flipback removed, a wide seam split on the bottom edge, some paper loss obscuring only a few words of the extensive liner notes and a little bit of wear to the opening edge. Despite this the vinyl remains in excellent condition showing minimal wear and no obvious signs that indicate considerable play 32-129).
SPIRO GYRA Old Boot Wine (Killer British Acid Folk Prog 1972 UK 9-track vinyl LP. The second elusive album by the group which sold very poorly at the time & is now very collectable. The textured picture sleeve is adorned with a stunning design goes into details on the back thanking everyone including Steve Hillage for use of his fuzz box. The delicate sleeve on this example is graded as Very Good as diplays some paperloss to the spine and light shelfwear along with a small top split due to vinyl shift whilst the vinyl itself shows minimal signs of play. A fantastic addition to any serious Prog/ Folk collection PEG13).
