While music was more popular during the 90’s than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes almost obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.
We don’t always see that many collections of ‘90s vinyl here, but when we do, you can almost guarantee them to be of a high quality both in condition and content. Below are a few highlights we have in stock and be sure to keep an eye on the latest arrivals at eil.com.
LEFTFIELD Leftism (Limited Edition 1995 UK first press 12-track triple LP [‘PAULS @ PORKYS’ HAND’ in run-out], including the singles Original & Open Up with guest vocalists John Lydon [Sex Pistols/PiL] & Toni Haliday [Curve], along withthe exclusive track Half Past Dub only available on the 3-LP edition. Housed in a tri-fold pocket picture sleeve, the sleeve is Very Good and reveals a split to the top of the spine and has some light edgewear and pressure marks. The vinyl are in Excellent condition with just a few faint paper hairlines not affecting play HANDLP2T).
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN The Ghost Of Tom Joad (Rare 1995 Dutch-pressed 12-track vinyl LP, produced for the UK market, housed in a hype stickered picture sleeve complete with picture/lyric inner. The sleeve has light general storage wear, mostly to the top edge, graded Very Good. The labels are both clean with minimal spindle marks, whilst the vinyl is Excellent and only has few signs of play. A nice example of this hard to find 90s vinyl).
QUEEN Made In Heaven (Rare original 1995 UK 11-track LP pressed on Black Vinyl with picture labels, featuring a slightly different version to the CD release, complete with original glossy lyric inner and three fold-out posters & glossy gatefold picture sleeve. The inner on this example has a misprint, the title for the song ‘Heaven For Everyone’ is missing and has someof the lyrics printed at the end of the previous song, I Was Born To Love You. There is some shelfwear to the edges of the sleeve and there is a littlepaper loss / sticker wear evident to the back however, despite some surface scuffs showing evidence of play, the vinyl remains in VG condition PCSD167)
