There’s nothing quite like a mood-setting score to bring a movie to life. Whether it’s a classic by Ennio Morricone, a grandiose score from John Williams, or a harrowing trip from Goblin, soundtracks are important. They have almost created their own subset of the record collecting community that desperately seeks out rare and unusual soundtracks, which we have plenty of in stock and ready to be added to your collection.
We’ve hand-picked three highlights below, and the rest of our catalogue can be seen at eil.com.
JOHN CARPENTER Halloween (Rare original 1983 US 11-track Varese Sarabande label LP pressed on Translucent Blue Vinyl, visible when held to the light. John Carpenter’s iconic soundtrack to his own 1978 slasher movie, which raised the bar for both horror soundtracks and movies in it’s time. The picture sleeve on this copy does show some age from storage, which is graded as Very Good, and the vinyl displays a handful of minor paper scuffs to show for it’s 40 years in the wild, which following a play test produce nothing more than an ambient hum in the quiest of sections. This is the first time we have seen this variant of this soundtrack here, and may be the only time we will for the foreseeable future. Essential to any soundtrack collection).
ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK Almost Famous (Autographed Limited Edition 2000 US promotional advance 17-track double vinyl LP comprising a great collection of tracks that make up the soundtrack to the film, featuring songs by Nancy Wilson, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, The Who, Simon & Garfunkel and many more. The vinyl remains in excellent to Near Mint condition with barely any signs of play within the picture sleeve which displays the classic Kate Hudson image and has been nicely signed on the front in black marker pen by the wonderful, multi-award winning actress Frances McDormand, who played the overbearing mother Elaine Miller in the movie! DRMF-13598-1).
ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK Last Action Hero (Rare 1993 Dutch 12-track vinyl LP, soundtrack album for the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie, featuring material from AC/DC [Big Gun], Megadeth [Angry Again], Tesla [Last Action Hero], Alice In Chains [What TheHell Have I & A Little Bitter] & more; housed in the hype stickered picture sleeve. The sleeve displays some light creasing to the front, whist the vinyl remains in a ‘near mint’ condition with very little signs of play).
