More often than not, those who spend a lifetime in the record industry will acquire a wide range of weird, wonderful and unusual memorabilia from the artists they worked with. That, along with items produced by artists and labels for general sale, makes up a lot of the memorabilia we come across here, and you could find something for your collection that you didn’t know existed before.
Check out these three hand-selected highlights below, and for our full range of what we have to offer head to eil.com
THE DAMNED Disciples Song Book (Rare 1977 UK first issue mail-order only 28-page illustrated A4 magazine style songbook with ‘Printed by Zigzag’ text on inner front page. Includes the lyrics from the debut album, Stretcher Case and Sick Of Being Sick, along with many more titbits, including some great passport style photos of the chaps. The cover has some minor creasing, otherwise this copy remains in lovely near ‘as new’ condition, which is all but amazing for 45 year old paper goodsin general, but even more so for 45 year old Damned memorabilia!).
CANNED HEAT In Concert (Rare 1970 UK 12-page concert programme for the show with support by the Groundhogs, featuring pages inside dedicated to each band, with a more in depth details for Canned Heat including information on each band member, along with adverts to their then latest albums Future Blues & ’70 Concert, with a yellow cover with simply the artist name in black text. This example remains in an outstanding condition with only light signs of age. Also including a ticket stub for the 24th September 1970 show at the City (Oval) Hall in Sheffield).
LED ZEPPELIN / PINK FLOYD Bath Festival Of Blues & Progressive Music (Very rare original 1970 UK 42-page UK programme for their second on the bill performance at the festival on 28th June, in between Frank Zappa & the headliners for Sunday, Jefferson Airplane. The programme has a one-page section on the band, along with info & pictures on the other bands appearing over the two days – Pink Floyd headlined Saturday. A wonderful piece of history in an Excellent condition, with just afew areas of light creasing & edge scuffing, and a tear to the bottom right corner on the cover, and some pen marks throughout next to what looks like albums the previous owner bought. For being an over fifty year old item made from paper, this has survived the rigors of time really well).
