The advent of CD’s seemed like the death knell for vinyl during the ‘90s. That was only made worse by file sharing becoming popular as the decade came to a close and edged into the early ‘00s. We now know that vinyl would have an unprecedented resurgence in later years, which has led to collectors desperately seeking out original pressings from the ‘90s. Those rare Creation records pressings that shaped alternative music as we know it today, the rare pressings of iconic grunge records that are white whales for many, and weird and wonderful electronic music are always popular with completists.
Finding original ‘90s pressings is hard for anyone, ourselves included, but it does happen, and we have great stock of some rarities over at eil.com now.
SWERVEDRIVER Raise (Rare long deleted 1991 UK Creation Records 9-track classic debut vinyl LP, includes Son Of A Mustang Ford & Sandblasted, picture sleeve. Both the sleeve and vinyl are in superb ‘near mint’ condition CRELP093).
RIDE Nowhere (1990 UK 8-track LP on Creation, including Kaleidoscope & Paralysed, embossed & textured picture sleeve complete with custom hype sticker intact, illustrated credits inner & limited 11½” x 11½” band picture insert. The sleeve andinner display some light shelfwear, but the vinyl is in near mint condition CRELP074).
SLOWDIVE Just For A Day (1991 UK 9-track vinyl LP, their classic debut album including the single Catch The Breeze. Complete with illustrated credits inner, the glossy picture sleeve has just light shelfwear and the vinyl itself has only a fewlight cosmetic surface scuffs but remains in EX condition CRELP094).
