While music was more popular during the 90’s than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes almost obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.

We don’t always see that many collections of ‘90s vinyl here, but when we do, you can almost guarantee them to be of a high quality both in condition and content. Below are a few highlights we have in stock and be sure to keep an eye on the latest arrivals at eil.com.

FRANK ZAPPA Strictly Commercial (Limited edition 1995 UK 21-track double LP compilation, including the Dancin’ Fool 12″ Dance Mix [not available on CD], individually numbered gatefold picture sleeve with illustrated biography insert. The sleeve shows minimal wear & the vinyl looks barely played – a superb condition copy & still the best Zappa comp out there! RALP40500).

WILCO Being There (1996 US 19-track double vinyl LP, single pocket picture sleeve. The band’s second long-player was an ambitious, double album of 19 songs that the Independent compared favourably to the Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main Street; including the single Outtasite [Outta Mind]. Presented in a single pocket picture sleeve which, along with the vinyl, remains in Near Mint condition twenty five years on!).

TALKING HEADS Stop Making Sense (1999 UK EMI Millennium Vinyl Collection issue 9-track LP, pressed on 180g Audiophile Vinyl), glossy picture sleeve. The cover and vinyl remain in Near Mint condition).
