The advent of CD’s seemed like the death knell for vinyl during the ‘90s. That was only made worse by file sharing becoming popular as the decade came to a close and edged into the early ‘00s. We now know that vinyl would have an unprecedented resurgence in later years, which has led to collectors desperately seeking out original pressings from the ‘90s. Those rare Creation records pressings that shaped alternative music as we know it today, the rare pressings of iconic grunge records that are white whales for many, and weird and wonderful electronic music are always popular with completists.
Finding original ‘90s pressings is hard for anyone, ourselves included, but it does happen, and we have great stock of some rarities over at eil.com now.
CYNDI LAUPER Hat Full Of Stars (Rare 1993 Dutch 12-track vinyl LP including the single That’s What I Think, superb black & white picture sleeve and lyric inner. The sleeve shows some light edge scuffing and the vinyl is in near mint condition – afantastic copy).
DUBSTAR Disgraceful (1996 UK 17-track double LP, comprising the full album on one disc & a second disc of six tracks from the album remixed, housed in a custom hype stickered gatefold pocket sleeve with illustrated inners & 12-page artwork booklet. The sleeve has some minor edge & spine wear and both vinyl discs look superb FOODLP13).
FAITH NO MORE Angel Dust (1992 UK limited edition 11-track vinyl LP, the fourth studio album by the American rock band, including the singles Midlife Crisis and Small Victory, complete with bonus 3-track 12″ featuring the exclusive Midlife Crisis- Scream Mix, Crack Hitler and a version of John Barry’s theme to the movie Midnight Cowboy. Housed in a hype stickered single pocket glossy picture sleeve with illustrated lyric inner. The sleeve displays minimal wear, whilst the vinyl showsvery little signs of play. A fantastic example of this hard to find 90s vinyl pressing).
