The advent of CD’s seemed like the death knell for vinyl during the ‘90s. That was only made worse by file sharing becoming popular as the decade came to a close and edged into the early ‘00s. We now know that vinyl would have an unprecedented resurgence in later years, which has led to collectors desperately seeking out original pressings from the ‘90s. Those rare Creation records pressings that shaped alternative music as we know it today, the rare pressings of iconic grunge records that are white whales for many, and weird and wonderful electronic music are always popular with completists.
Finding original ‘90s pressings is hard for anyone, ourselves included, but it does happen, and we have great stock of some rarities over at eil.com now.
NEIL YOUNG & CRAZY HORSE Ragged Glory (1990 UK/German-pressed 10-track LP, including the singles Mansion On The Hill & Over & Over. Comes housed in a glossy fish eye lens-style picture sleeve complete with the illustrated album credits inner.The sleeve is Excellent with a mere couple of minor crease marks, the vinyl is nice & clean & in Excellent to Near Mint condition with few signs of play WX374).
QUEEN Innuendo (1991 UK 12-track LP, the fourteenth studio album by the British rock band featuring four songs specially edited for the vinyl edition – I’m Going Slightly Mad, Don’t Try So Hard, The Hitman & Bijou, spot lacquered picture sleeve with illustrated lyric inner. The sleeve shows light foxing & general wear, whlist the vinyl looks barely played. A superb example of this classic 90s vinyl pressing PCSD115).
MASSIVE ATTACK Protection (Original 1994 UK Wild Bunch / Circa label 10-track vinyl LP featuring collaborations with Tracey Thorn and Tricky and including the singles Protection and Karmacoma plus a live version of Light My Fire, picture sleeve with picture inner. The sleeve has a slight sticker tear in the top right corner and shows some light edgewear and corner scuffs; the vinyl shows a few light hairlines – overall an excellent copy WBRLP2).
