Black Sabbath are the undisputed godfathers of heavy metal. The towering riffs of Tony Iommi set the band apart from many of the blues rock based bands of their time, while Ozzy Osbourne’s unique vocals added an extra layer of darkness Geezer Butlers looming bass and Bill Ward’s death march drumming.
They are one still one of the most collectable metal bands out there, with new fans being made daily who are looking to track down rare vinyl and memorabilia. BLACK SABBATH Sabotage (Archive quality rare 1975 UK first issue 8-track vinyl LP with ‘Nems Records & Tapes’ logo and catalogue number ‘9119 001’, textured picture sleeve with the same catalogue number on the spine & the back. The sleeve & vinyl are Near Mint – an outstanding one owner copy with no need to upgrade!).
BLACK SABBATH Vol. 4 (Rare 1972 UK first press 10-track LP on the small ‘swirl’ label without ‘Made In England’ text, matt gatefold picture sleeve with integral four page colour photo booklet, ‘VO Price Code’ lettering on reverse and no track times inside. By 1972 the swirl inner was no longer being used, instead a poly lined white sleeve was used printed with ‘Plastic Bags Can Be Dangerous’, this example includes the correct inner and is dated ‘0872’. The sleeve on this copy has minimal wear with just very light edge scuffing, the labels have just a couple of light spindle marks however the vinyl shows very little signs of play. BLACK SABBATH Technical Ecstasy (2015 UK/EU limited edition 8-track LP remastered and pressed on 180-gram black vinyl. Recorded in the summer of 1976 at Miami's famed Criteria Studios, Technical Ecstasy finds Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward pushing beyond the crushing doom of their early records into a more expansive, experimental sound. Fresh from the Sabotage world tour - where keyboards and synthesizers had started to seep into the live set - the band brought those textures into the studio, folding them into a set that veers from hard-driving rock to soulful balladry and funk-tinged prog. The album swings from the turbo-charged opener "Back Street Kids" and the swaggering "All Moving Parts (Stand Still)" to the more cinematic "Gypsy," while "It's Alright" stands out as a genuine curveball: a melodic, piano-led ballad featuring Bill Ward's first lead vocal on a Sabbath track. The result is one of the band's most intriguing and divisive LPs - a snapshot of Sabbath in transition, restlessly reshaping their sound in the mid-'70s. Picture sleeve, factory sealed)
