Choice Cuts: A Low-Numbered Copy of The Beatles Iconic White Album

The copy of the self-titled Beatles album – or ‘The White Album – is a rare original 1968 MONO 30-track double vinyl LP in top opening fully laminated embossed gatefold sleeve with the incredibly low number of 0000572, complete with fold-out lyric/picture poster, the four individual band member picture portrait inserts and black inners. This one previous owner copy is one of the lowest numbered mono issues that we’ve ever had the good fortune to come across

The main selling point of this copy is the extremely low number on the front of the gatefold sleeve, which is a clearly printed ‘No. 0000572’. The top-opening embossed gatefold sleeve remains in a strong, robust state with no rips, tears or writing. There is some water damage evident along the top and inner spread but crucially the super low number is clearly legible. There are a few minor scuffs & the odd blemish, but creasing is kept to a minimum and the sleeve still remains ivory white with just a little age yellowing at the edges. Being a mono sleeve, there is no print on the back, the internal flipbacks are still secure. and the spine has some laminate lift [nothing excessive]

The die-cut black inners are included and remain in Excellent condition with minimal wear & no splits. The four picture inserts are printed on thick photo stock & also remain in great condition with no pin holes & very little wear. The fold-out lyric/picture poster is complete but does show tearing across the folds at the corners as a result of being unfolded and folded repeatedly. Apart from that, there is just some minor creasing and few areas of discolouration. The dark Apple labels have ‘Sold in the UK’ text across the top.

The vinyl itself has obviously been played with surface hairlines and scuffs visible, so a degree of surface noise is to be expected in quieter moments but there are no jumps or deep scratches. Realistically it would be visually graded VG-/VG but playtesting this solid 1968 pressing confirmed that it holds its own and plays to a better standard than its grading might suggest.

Any lower number or an even better condition sleeve would be priced much higher than this, so this is your chance to get a very acceptable <1000 mono copy at an advantageous price with the option of upgrading the vinyl and the poster at a later date.
