Every era of music has its traits, tropes, and fashion that helps definite it, and the ‘90s were no exception. The grunge, hip hop, dance, pop, indie and alternative scenes all had their own unique styles during this time, many of which are still prevalent in pop culture today. The music from ‘90s will live forever but tracking down original vinyl pressings is no easy feat, but it happens.
It would take an age to list everything here that we have in stock from the ‘90s, but you can see some highlights below and find the rest of our catalogue at eil.com.
DEPECHE MODE Songs Of Faith & Devotion (1993 UK 10-track vinyl LP, the eighth studio album by English electronic band, including the singles I Feel You, Walking in My Shoes, Condemnation and In Your Room, with illustrated lyric inner and picture sleeve. The sleeve displays some very light edgewear, while the vinyl shows very little evidence of play and is in superb condition. An excellent example of this increasingly hard to find 90s pressing STUMM106).
DJ SHADOW Pre-Emptive Strike (1997 US 8-track double LP, gathering killer singles on Mo Wax after the huge success of Endtroducing. Includes In/Flux, What Does Your Soul Look Like, High Noon, Organ Donor with the classic “Tears” by Giorgio sample, plus previously unreleased recordings, gatefold picture sleeve. This copy remains sealed from new in its original hype-stickered shrink, and remains in mint, unplayed condition).
GOLDIE Timeless (Rare 1995 8-track double vinyl LP, housed in a top opening Tri-Fold picture sleeve. This record easily lives up to its name and truly is Timeless, even over 15 years after its original release. Goldie shook things up in the Jungle world when he released this album, after DJing at raves for years prior and already releasing records on his Metalheadz imprint, but no one was ready for what would appear on this record. Taking the elements of Jungle basslines, adding breakbeat elements, beautiful vocal melodies, and orchestral pieces to create this monster. The vinyl version was much shorter than the CD issue, but still packs no less of a punch with tracks like Saint Angel, and You & Me still sounding as ferocious as they do beautiful… not bad for a boy from the wrong side of the tracks of Wallsall. This truly marked Goldies god-like status in the Drum N Bass world, and reached No.7 in the Top 40 charts. There is some minor edgewear from storage to the opening edge of the sleeve and there are one or two inaudible cosmetic surface scuffs on the vinyl but to find any Drum N Bass vinyl, especially something like this, in such excellent condition is nothing short of a miracle! Not to be missed out on! 828614-1).
