Barbed Wire Sandwich is a 9-track stereo LP from the band who were originally formed by Simon Kirke & Paul Kossoff, before they left to form Free & featuring an early incarnation of Leaf Hound.

The was issued on the light blue & silver Decca Nova series label & housed in a front laminated picture sleeve with stereo/mono hole indicator on the reverse & blue-for-stereo company inner.

The album consists of two sides of spoken word and sound effects mixed with various bands and acts that played the opening tour of the QE2, but is most notable for being the first vinyl release to feature London's legendary blues/psych group Black Cat Bones, before their seminal BarbedWire Sandwich album, and featuring a pre-Free Simon Kirke on drums.
