From Planet Rock.
The Wildhearts will embark on a fresh UK tour in January and February 2020, which they’re co-headlining with Swedish rockers Backyard Babies.
Following a quartet of German shows together, the two bands will kick off the UK leg at Newcastle O2 Academy on Tuesday 28th January before calling in at Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester, London, Cardiff and Birmingham.
Opening proceedings at all seven UK shows are Pennsylvanian rockers CKY, while The Bones will do the honours in Germany.
Tickets to the co-headline tour go on sale from Planet Rock Tickets at 10am on Friday 13th September.
Guitarist CJ Wildheart says: “I’m surprised we haven’t done this already but it’s finally happening a tour with The Backyard Babies. It’s gonna be full-on and we are sharing a bus, what could possibly go wrong? Come out and see us, dance, drink, sing and have your faces torn off…. ROCK!”
Backyard Babies guitarist Dregen enthuses: “This will be a bad ass tour. We’ve been talking about touring with The Wildhearts since the early 2000s. Finally it happens! If you don’t like loud guitars, great songs, amazing riffs and High energy Rock N’ Roll music…. Well, just don’t buy a ticket.”
CKY drummer Jess Margera adds: “CKY is beyond stoked to return to the UK with the legendary Backyard Babies and The Wildhearts! The rock and roll runs deep on this batch of shows. Don’t miss it!”
The fresh shows are in addition to The Wildhearts’ upcoming October and November 2019 tour, The Renaissance Men Tour Part II. Tickets are on sale now.
Having received widespread acclaim for their May 2019 studio album ‘Renaissance Men’, The Wildhearts will release the six-track mini-album ‘Diagnosis’ on Friday 4th October via Graphite Records.
