From Planet Rock.
Ronnie Wood will release his new album ‘Ronnie Wood with His Wild Five – Mad Lad: A Live Tribute to Chuck Berry’ on Friday 15th November via BMG.
A nod to his musical hero Chuck Berry, The Rolling Stones guitarist’s album contains 11 songs recorded live at the Tivoli Theatre in Wimborne, Dorset in autumn 2018, where Ronnie was joined by singer Imelda May and pianist Ben Waters.
Alongside Chuck Berry classics like ‘Little Queenie’, ‘Johnny B Goode’ and ‘Rock and Roll Music’, the album features the track ‘Tribute To Chuck Berry penned by Ronnie himself plus ‘Worried Life Blues’ written by Maceo Merriweather.
The ‘Mad Lad’ artwork was hand-painted by Ronnie and the album is available to buy digitally, on CD, on heavyweight vinyl, deluxe box set (CD, LP and 12×12 art card of the album artwork) and in a super deluxe limited-edition box set (including CD, LP, 12×12 art print, signed and numbered set list and T-Shirt). You can pre-order it right here.
Six days after the album’s release, Ronnie Wood will play London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Thursday 21st November. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday 13th September – head to Planet Rock Tickets to check availability.
Ronnie Wood is also the subject of a Mike Figgis directed documentary film called Somebody Up There Likes Me, which premieres at the London Film Festival on 12th October before general release in early 2020.
Somebody Up There Likes Me traces Ronnie’s life and career and is described as a definitive portrait of the musician and artist.
The film will feature “brutally honest” interviews with Wood, together with contributions from Rod Stewart, artist Damien Hirst and, of course, The Rolling Stones.
