From Planet Rock.
As part of a new collection of music, legendary prog rockers Pink Floyd have unveiled an unseen version of their classic track.
The whopping 16 disc ‘Pink Floyd The Later Years’ boxset is being released on 29th November 2019, and contains 5 CDs, 6 Blu-Rays and 5 DVDs. Covering the material created by David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright from 1987 onwards, it spans tracks from the 3 studio and 2 live albums the band put out in a period where they sold over 40 million records.
Alongside a remixed and updated version of ‘A Momentary Lapse of Reason’ – Nick Mason recorded new drum parts, whilst David Gilmour and producer Bob Ezrin remixed Richard Wright’s keyboard parts – the collection includes over 13 hours of unreleased audio and audiovisual material, including the sought-after 1989 Venice and 1990 Knebworth concerts.
The previously unreleased version of ‘Wish You Were Here‘, played first on Planet Rock today, comes from the band’s headline set at the Nordoff Robbins Silver Clef Award Winners Concert at Knebworth in 1990. Watch the atmospheric performance from original members David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright below:
As well as the aforementioned 16 discs of goodness, the collection also features a 60 page hard-backed photo book designed by Hipgnosis, and an array of reproduction memorabilia.
