For 45 years, Bruce Springsteen has been an icon within the music industry. With his working class tales that relate to the everyday lives of many, and his ability to stand the test of time and remain relevant has given him a culturally significant standing. The impact of ‘The Boss’ can never be understated. From arena-made anthems such as Born In the USA and Dancing In the Dark, to the sullen Atlantic City and The River, Springsteen truly does have something for everyone in his catalogue.
Aside from making really great music, there are also a number of collectors items and rarities out in the wild, and we do see them here from time to time. Below are a few highlights we currently have in stock, and you can see our full range in our Bruce Springsteen collectors store.
Born In The USA – KCP Invitation/RTL Archive: Unique collection of ephemera relating to the 1985 performances at the Parc de la Courneuve in Paris, France. This collection has come from the archive of RTL Radio in Paris and comprises two invitations, one with a KCP 85 GUEST pass attached, a merchandise postcard, and a well-thumbed concert programme with a laminated pass taped inside for the Paris concert – for RTL Director Monique Le Marcis, no less! The highlightis a 46-page facsimile document of period reviews published in the French press throughout June & July 1985, including France Soir, Liberation, Le Parisien, Le Quotidien, Le Nouvel Observateur, Le Point, L’Express, Tele 7 Jours, Le Monde, Le Figaro, Telerama, Humanite, La Croix, VSD, Le Matin and 20 Ans. An unrepeatable collection!
The ‘Live’ – The Legend Comes Alive: Mega rare 1986 Japanese Special DJ Copy 10-track promotional-only LP sampler with custom labels, unique sepia tinged Bruce portrait pasted sleeve with release details on the back for the Japanese market. Both sleeve and label list the first three songs on the B-side in the incorrect order, this copy also includes a one page correction sheet. The sleeve displays just a little light general wear and the vinyl appears in near ‘as new’ condition. Extremely rare & increasingly hard to find in such condition!
In Concert / MTV Plugged: 1993 Dutch limited edition 13-track double live LP issued to coincide with his 1993 European Tour, housed in a red circular hype stickered picture sleeve with tour dates on the reverse & lyric inners. The cover is Excellent with minimal wear & no splits to the inners whilst the vinyl discs are both Excellent with very few signs of play. Now tough to find nineties vinyl, pressed when the CD market took over!
