4AD has been a prominent label within indie and alternative music since its inception in the 80’s. The label has always been carefully curated to release interesting artists that tend to buck trends, musically, while also being accessible to more than just musos and those in the underground know.
The label has been responsible for releasing classic albums from Red House Painters, Cocteau Twins and Lush, through to newer contemporary artist such as Grimes, Daughter and Purity Ring.
Below are a few highlights from the 4AD items we have in stock, and you can find the rest of our catalogue at eil.com
Red House Painters – Red House Painters: Very rare 1993 UK 14-track double vinyl LP, single pocket picture sleeve with picture inners. This self-titled release is also known as ‘Rollercoaster’ due to the sleeve image, it’s another batch of classic introspective songs subsequently dubbed as ‘slowcore’ by the critics. The sleeve and inners show very little sign of wear, with just a little creasing to the opening lip and the vinyl has just a few light hairlines / scuffs, which have little or no impact on sound quality – a great copy of an elusive gem!
Cocteau Twins – Heaven Or Las Vegas: 1990 UK 10-track LP, the Cocteau’s most successful album & one of the classic British indie albums of the early nineties, complete with full colour illustrated inner, picture sleeve. The inner has two small side seam splits, otherwise the sleeve shows minimal wear and the vinyl remains near ‘as new’ with little sign of play
Lush – Spooky: Classic 1992 UK 4AD limited edition 12-track double vinyl 10″ LP, including Nothing Natural, Ocean and Monochrome, housed in the gatefold picture sleeve with picture inners. The sleeve has a little evidence of faint stickerwear whilst both vinyl discs remain in excellent condition
