The self titled offering from Jumble Lane is a monster rare British psych record, released in 1971 in the UK . The 12-track LP was privately pressed for Holyground, with just 99 copies made for tax avoidance reasons.
This very rare album was created by students & friends of Bretton Hall college. This example once belonged to an ex-girlfriend of band member, Nick Dew [Nick later joined Bill Nelson to form the first incarnation of Be-Bop Deluxe]. Jumble Lane is an intriguing & heady mix containing folk & jazz elements with progressive ideas of the time, with varied acid folk & rock elements & a very British approach.
No official picture sleeves were produced for the album, but this copy comes housed in a unique, home-made picture sleeve that the band put together, with a pasted black & white image on the front & pasted tracklist/publishing detail on the back. As a nice touch, the original die-cut inner sleeve is included & is signed & dedicated by Nick to his former flame.
The vinyl surface is clean both sides & grades VG+/EX- & there are some light paper hairline scuffs & minor spindle marks resulting in just a little faint surface background in the quieter sections & great sound overall. Now a prize item & virtually impossible to find.
