Here at eil.com we realise not everyone’s pockets are so deep they can stump up the readies for that uber-collectable slab of vinyl, CD boxset, vintage memorabilia etc. With that in mind, we’ve put together this new weekly ‘Top 3’ of some of the more affordable collectables that pass through our doors each week, and no item will be more than £50. Check out more bargains in our store now.
jefferson Airplane – Volunteers: 1969 first UK issue orange label 10-track LP pressed on sturdy vinyl – One of the earliest 16-track recordings, guest starring Jerry Garcia, David Crosby & Stephen Stills, the album was controversial at the time dueto use of profanity & anti-war sentiment. The front laminated gatefold sleeve has the ‘Robert Stace’ printing credit on the back and has a little age discolouration / foxing to the inside gatefold while the vinyl itself appears barely played
Dave Clark Five – The Dave Clark Five Show: 1964 UK 16-page programme for a show that featured all of the major recording artists of the day including The Kinks, The Mojos, Frank Berry, The Hollies, Mark Wynter and more, with pages dedicated to some of theartists including The Dave Clark Five along with black & white photographs. The front cover has a fold mark down the spine, otherwise has only light signs of age, and the past owner has written the correct running order in the centre page. This example also includes three ticket stubs for the 1st May show at the Gaumont Theatre in Southampton stapled to the first page
Steve Earle – Copperhead Road: Scarce 1988 US 10-track vinyl LP including the singles Johnny Come Lately, Back To The Wall and the title track. The picture sleeve has a deletion notch-cut to the top edge but also retains its hype-stickered opened shrinkwrap and the vinyl appears in near ‘as new’ condition
