Following the announcement that The Cure will be inducted into the 2019 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Robert Smith has given some brief insight into new music from the legendary band.
“Seeing all these new bands—I’ve listened to some of these bands and met so many of them that it’s kind of inspired me to do something new,” Smith told SiriusXM.
“So, yes, we’re going in about six weeks time to finish off what will be our first album in more than a decade. It’s very exciting times for us all around.”

The Cure are also one of the bands heavily rumoured to appear at Glastonbury next year, after a triumphant headlining slot at the BST Hyde Park festival in London this summer.
