Michael Garrick – Black Marigolds: Rare 1968 UK lemon Argo label 9-track mono LP, featuring Garrick on piano, harpsichord and celeste, Ian Carr, Joe Harriott, Don Rendell, Tony Coe, Dave Green and Trevor Tomkins. Additional drum work andpoetry from Colin Barnes, lending a quirky, decidedly British feel to the whole. Highlights are the Indian raga inspired title track plus modal workout Ursula, the latter compiled on Volume Two of Gilles Peterson’s Impressed With compilation,front laminated picture sleeve. The sleeve shows light foxing with a little ringwear to the reverse; the spine has a 1cm split to the middle which leaves the text unaffected. The labels have a little foxing, whilst the vinyl itself is Near Mint.
Ornette Coleman – In Concert Lonely Woman Trio ’66 – Quartet ’74: Rare 1980s limited edition Italian-only 11-track 4-vinyl LP box set, live recordings from Copenhagen 1966 and Valenza 1974, picture box with sleevenotes insert. The box shows verylittle wear and the vinyl is Near Mint.
Black Artists Group – In Paris, Aries 1973: Very Rare & Limited 1973 French-only private press 4-track LP – Amazing & Fierce Modern Jazz, the one & only release by the group not dissimilar to Art Ensemble Of Chicago, starring Charles Bobo Shaw,Oliver Lake, Joseph Bowie, Baikida Carroll & Floyd LeFlore, unique laminated picture sleeve. The sleeve is Excellent & shows very little age wear other than a thin 2″ hairline split in the paper’s top edge. The vinyl is exceptionally nice & appears Near Mint with few signs of any play. Thurston Moore, a Free Jazz advocator & vinyl collector himself, gave this one a firm recommendation when it was reissued several years ago…

Featuring Donald Cherry on Pocket Trumpet, Charlie Hayden on Bass & Billy Higgins on Drums, front laminated pasted heavy duty picture sleeve with album notes by Ornette himself on the reverse. The sleeve shows the usual light fading and foxing to the unlaminated reverse, though nothing too excessive. The vinyl present some light cosmeticclouding and a few tiny cosmetic scufffs in places. This copy has been play tested in the areas of note and other than some minor surface noise, there's little interference in play. A very respectable example of this well sought-after LP SD1327)

This was Ornette's last album for Atlantic in a series of astonishing albums that radically altered perceptions of what jazz could be. The pasted picture sleeve is Excellent with light discolouration to edges and scuffs to corners, whilst the vinyl looks barely played!)
