The temptation to fill this with a number of train-related puns is almost too great, but needless to say, we are chuffed that this collection has pulled in…

Steam train records, believe it or not, are sometimes quite collectable and are not something we see every day. We recently picked up a collection of rarities, such as Kings of the Chilterns, Exhibitionist Engines, Mixed Train to Rosporden, and many more rarities from the wonderful world of steam. You can relax and unwind to the ambient sounds of classic engines, winding their way through the hills during a bygone era.

Check out the video below that shows just some of the highlights in the collection, and visit out store for more Steam train titles.

Industrial Engines EP: RARE 1968 UK mono 7″ vinyl EP, recordings of the sounds of engines built by Barclays, and a Saddle Tank engine built by Neilsons in 1885, at work on colliery lines in Ayrshire; a Saddle Tank engine, builtin 18998 by Peckett & Sons, at work in Portland Dockyard, front laminated flipback picture sleeve. The sleeve shows minimal wear, with a lovely clean unlaminated reverse and the vinyl is Near Mint. A superb example! .

Last Train To Ryde: Rare 1967 UK 7-track mono LP featuring recordings of The Adams 02 Class 0-4-4 Locomotives in the Isle Of Wight, one of very few recordings released on the ‘Eyemark’ label, front laminated picture sleeve. The sleeve shows just a little light shelfwear with mild discolouration in places on the unlaminated back, while the vinyl remains in excellent condition with few signs of play

Trains On The Narrow Gauge (1965 UK 7″ vinyl EP featuring Locomotives at work on six narrow gauge lines in England and Wales, including recrodings made on the Talyllyn Railway, the Welshpool and Llanfair Railway, the Vale of Rheidol line, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, the Festiniog Railway & the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway, fully laminated flipback picture sleeve. The sleeeve shows just light shelfwear with a little stressing at the opening and the vinyl remains in excellent condition with few signs of play EAF97).

  1. My father would have loved these records and this collection of them. He collected steam train related items and made his own “Case” steam engine!
