Here at eil.com we realise not everyone’s pockets are so deep they can stump up the readies for that uber-collectable slab of vinyl, CD boxset, vintage memorabilia etc. With that in mind, we’ve put together this new weekly ‘Top 3’ of some of the more affordable collectables that pass through our doors each week, and no item will be more than £50. Mountain – Flowers Of Evil: 1971 UK pink rim ‘palm tree’ label 7-track LP, matt picture sleeve with pinched spine. The sleeve has some minor edgewear and the a slight corner crease, but the vinyl is near as new – one of the best copies we have ever seen of this forty-six year old album! £40
Zappa/Beefheart/Mothers – Bongo Fury: 1975 US 9-track LP, never issued on vinyl in the UK featuring the vocal talents of Don Van Vliet as well as the classic ‘Jazz’ Zappa band of the mid 70s, nicely augmented by a very young Terry Bozzio on thelive material. Includes the fabulous Muffin Man, featuring one of Zappa’s finest solos! The picture sleeve retains its original hype sticker & is Very Good, despite edge scuffing. The vinyl looks barely played with nice clean labels. £40
The Pixies – Bossanova: Limited Edition 1990 UK 14-track LP, the third full length studio album featuring Dig For Fire, Allison & the infectious & resonant Velouria, complete with illustrated inner & sixteen page illustrated lyric booklet, housed in a lightly textured picture sleeve. The sleeve shows minimal wear with a little foxing, whilst the vinyl is Near Mint. Wonderful! £50
