For better or worse, the ‘90s will be remembered for a lot of iconic moments, but mostly it will be for the music. There was the rise of Brit Pop and the battle between Oasis and Blur, Nirvana bringing grunge to the mainstream and influencing an entire generation to wear a plaid shirt, the Spice Girls taking over the world, and Jarvis Cocker exposing himself to Michael Jackson at the Brit Awards.
While music was more popular than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.
We don’t always see that many collections of ‘90s vinyl here, but when we do, you can almost guarantee them to be of a high quality both in condition and content. Below are a few highlights we have in stock, and be sure to keep an eye on our latest arrivals.
Soundgarden – Badmotorfinger : 1991 UK 12-track vinyl LP, the third studio album by American rock band including the singles Room a Thousand Years Wide, Jesus Christ Pose, Outshined and Rusty Cage, glossy picture sleeve. The sleeve has light edgewear and a little area of print fade to the front, whilst the vinyl has just a few light paper scuffs and is Excellent. A fantastic copy of the classic twenty five year old pressing.
The Presidents of the United States of America – The Presidents of the United States of America: Scarce 1995 US limited edition 15-track LP pressed on Yellow Vinyl, the debut self titled studio album by the American alternative rock power trio, including the bonus recordsing Wake Up and Twig In The Wind, which at the time of release were not included on the Compact Disc version; lyric printed inner & picture sleeve. The sleeve displays just a little light wear mostly to the edgesand the vinyl looks barely played.
Live -Throwing Copper: Rare 1994 US 12-track vinyl LP, the second album by American alternative rock band including the singles Selling the Drama, I Alone, Lightning Crashes, All Over You and White Discussion. The picture sleeve remains excellent with some minor general wear, whilst the vinyl shows little signs of play. Although not mint this is still a nice example of this hard to find original 90s pressing RAR-10997.
