You’ll be reasonably knowledgeable about ‘rare’ records already, since you probably live and breathe them – but the learning doesn’t stop. You’ll work alongside our product buyers and you will be responsible for describing and creatively writing about the Vinyl Records, CDs and items of Pop & Rock Memorabilia that you see live on our site right now. We can provide you with key examples of the specific standards we require.
It’s essential that you have a broad knowledge of artists, bands and labels from the 1960s to the current day. You will be able to identify the extraordinary from the ordinary. Your verbal and written language skills will be excellent and you will be able to type fast, be it two fingers or ten. Since you could be handling a hundred different items each day across all genres, you’ll need to be super organised and flexible and eagled eyed about detail. You will be working to targets but you will be handling some of the rarest collectables in the music marketplace.
Your starting salary will be dependent on the knowledge you bring and will be performance based longer term. You will be working from our offices here in Meopham in Kent, five days per week from Monday to Saturday, served by good rail links including in and out of Victoria, London. Our offices have free parking.
Our existing team will tell you that their job is an “extension of their hobby” so if this sounds like the perfect job for you, write or email and tell me why. Don’t forget the all important CV.
