Take Me Back To Dear Old Blighty: The Smiths ‘The Queen Is Dead’ Thirty Years Old Today…

…..the classic third LP by the Smiths is thirty years old today (which makes me feel very old indeed), I was 18 when it was released and working on a summer camp in the US, somehow I managed to get a lift to the local mall and bought a copy on cassette and played it on repeat, I saw them play at the Pier in New York in August that year (them was definitely not rotten days)….what about you? Got a Queen Is Dead story you’d care to share?
