Wu-Tang Clan have sold Once Upon A Time in Shaolin to a “private American collector” for a price “in the millions.” The buyer will receive the album, described as “a retrospective soundscape that threads 31 songs, skits, and stories into a 128-minute-long aural screenplay,” along with its nickel-silver box, assorted artifacts and a pair of $55,000 speakers.
As reported earlier, the album has an 88-year “non commercialization” clause, which prevents a corporation from buying and mass producing it for sale. Still, it’s unclear if anyone living will ever hear the album. [via Pigeons & Planes]
