Just landed at Eil Towers is the monster-rare Vertigo Records LP from the short-lived Affinity featuring Linda Hoyle on vocals.
This fantastic album is best described as a cross between The Trinity & Jefferson Airplane, with Linda Hoyle’s vocals crossing from Jools to Grace Slick at various points in the album. Ably abetted by Mo Foster on Bass, Mike Jupp on Guitar, Lynton Naiff on Keyboards & Grant Serpell on drums. The combination of extraordinary vocals, grinding guitar & swirling Hammond make this a classic of its genre, and if you haven’t heard their version of Dylan via Hendrix’s take on All Along The Watchtower then stick it on your bucket list now!
Condition :-
This is a very low mileage example acquired from one fastidious owner of a collection of mouthwatering Rock, Prog & Psych gems, all bought from new on release during his teenage years. Said chap may have picked up the nickname ‘Mr Teapot’ on his psychedelic travels back in the day, but he kept his records in such beautiful condition that we can only doff our caps to this fine gent & his remarkable records.
Now on to the good stuff… The condition of the sleeve is outstanding, NEAR MINT. There is just a tiny, unobtrusive catalogue annotation to a rear corner, the only blemish on an otherwise near ‘as new’ sleeve.
The vinyl is held in the original poly-lined swirl bag, with small catalogue number annotation in the corner.
For completeness sake, the matrices in the dead wax read:
6360004 1Y//2 1 1 3
6360004 B>1 1 1 2
The vinyl is a clean, future investment grade, example. It appears near ‘as new’ with only perhaps one or two plays in its entire life. A gorgeous NEAR MINT example of this impossible to find original. We are highly unlikely to repeat this one any time soon & it’s the first original copy we’ve ever clapped eyes on!
