Our buyers have been sorting through an eclectic delivery of vinyl this week directly from South Africa. Included are many original pressings from the Republic of Rhodesia, the unreocgnised South African state until 1979; it now forms part of the region known as Zimbabwe. Like many far flung parts of the world, the mind boggles to think that vinyl could even survive unscathed from these parts, but we’re pleased it has. We’re excited to be sorting through and researching it so even if you don’t collect foreign pressings, at least get a look in. Things like this only become fewer in number.

‘Included are many original pressings from the Republic of Rhodesia, the unrecognised South African state until 1979’
Rhodesia was never a ‘state’ of South Africa, let alone an ‘unrecognised’ one. It was a former British Colony which became independent from Britain. That once great country is now the failed state of Zimbabwe.
Nice to know that record releases in Rhodesia and South Africa are now sought after!
