While music was more popular during the 90’s than virtually any other decade, vinyl was on the decline. CD was the chosen format, rendering cassettes almost obsolete, and causing vinyl sales to dwindle. Record companies began pressing less and stores rarely stocked anything other than the biggest selling titles. Now, many of the albums of the time are considered collector’s items and sell for premium prices.
We don’t always see that many collections of ‘90s vinyl here, but when we do, you can almost guarantee them to be of a high quality both in condition and content. Below are a few highlights we have in stock and be sure to keep an eye on the latest arrivals at eil.com.
PULP His ‘N’ Hers (Rare 1994 UK first press 10-track LP, the Britpop group’s breakthrough album, including Do You Remember The First Time & Lipgloss, glossy picture sleeve with lyric inner. The cover displays just a few light signs of age wearand the vinyl has only a few light signs of play. Overall an Excellent example of this now tricky to find pressing ILPS8025).
THE CARDIGANS Life (Rare 1995 UK Stockholm Records 13-track vinyl LP – their second studio album including Carnival and a cover version of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath!, picture sleeve. The sleeve has a small crease in one corner and a little spinewear, whilst the vinyl has just a few light paper scuffs not impacting play. A great copy!).
OASIS Definitely Maybe (Rare original 1994 UK 12-track double LP, with hand scratched matrices in the run-outs along with ‘Damont’ on all sides, denoting a true first pressing. Includes the singles Live Forever & Supersonic plus Sad Song [exclusive to this format], housed in a glossy gatefold picture sleeve. Also includes a mailout postcard, ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ & ‘Definitely Maybe’ promo postcards. The sleeve is in Excellent condition with some light edge scuffing and minor storage wear. Both vinyl discs are also in Excellent condition with very few signs of play, a fantastic copy and an increasingly hard to find release in any condition! CRELP169)
