What is an audiophile pressing?
Well, in a nutshell, it’s an audio format pressed to help enhance the sound quality, be that on vinyl or Compact Disc.
The idea being the heavier the vinyl pressing, the better. There have been pressings released from 120 up to 200 Gram in weight, usually the 200 Gram will play at 45rpm providing a better audio experience, instead of the standard 33 1/3rpm.
Compact Discs have various different formats, gold was used in the earlier pressing as it supposedly provided a better a clearer sound reproduction.
Mobile Fidelity are known for being one of the leaders in producing vinyl and CDs of an audiophile grade, with the original releases now highly collectable.
We now have Super Audio CDs, SHM-CD providing a high-fidelity-audio, Blu-Spec CDs using Blu-ray technology, along with DVD-Audio using DVD technology, both providing surround sound audio.

Without doubt the definitive collection of Numan’s early years featuring a facsimile edition of Tubeway Army’s rare debut in blue gatefold sleeve and on Blue Vinyl, a separate expanded edition of the Plan LP featuring early 7″ singles and demos, plus new editions of the Replicas and Pleasure Principle albums – all albums are newly remastered. Both Replicas and Pleasure Principle are in textured and numbered sleeve with inners and bonus inserts. Aside from a small split along the top edge of Tubeway Army LP all the outer box, sleeves, inners and vinyl are all in Mint condition. CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL The Studio Albums Collection (2018 UK/EU limited edition Craft Recordings 7-LP box set, the first physical release to commemorate the 50th anniversary of America’s greatest rock band. Comprising their complete studio output from 1968 to 1972, each record has been half-speed mastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios, pressed on 180-gram audiophile quality vinyl. Housed inside a deluxe flip-top lid box set, including an 80-page book with new liner notes and rare photos. Factory sealed with hype sticker. Recommended).
PINK FLOYD The Dark Side Of The Moon (Limited Edition 1978 US Mobile Fidelity half-speed mastered audiophile issue of the classic 1973 10-track LP, taken from the original stereo master tape & pressed in Japan on Super High Definition Vinyl for sale in the States, housed in a deluxe gatefold sleeve with Mastersound wraparound card stiffner & original questionnaire insert. The cover has some light scuffing to the reverse, otherwise in great shape with strong colours and very little sheflwear, the vinyl remains in Excellent condition with little sign of play MFSL1-017).
