Below are some of the latest arrivals that we have in stock, and you can find out full range of jazz titles over at eil.com
ROY HAYNES QUARTET Out Of The Afternoon (Rare 1968 UK first press 7-track LP on the black & red ‘nipper stamp’ label, also starring Tommy Flanagan on Piano, the great Roland Kirk on Saxes & Henry Grimes on Bass. This stunning Rudy Van Gelder engineered session is one of those ‘in the know’ classics among jazz collectors, much deserving of a wider audience [trivia fans may know the track ‘Snap Crackle’ was featured not long ago on the soundtrack to the gaming series GTA IV where Roy himself played the fictional Jazz Nation DJ host!]. The front laminated flipback picture sleeve is Very Good- with some unfortunate heavy chips & splits in the laminate’s bottom edge, & with some lesser scuff marks in the top, otherwise it appears Excellent, complete with the HMV company inner. The all important vinyl is stunning & appears nice & clean & in Excellent to Near Mint condition with few signs of any play CLP1628).
SKIN ALLEY To Padgham & Beyond (Debut 1970 UK first press 6-track stereo LP with plain orange CBS labels, housed in a superb matt gatefold picture sleeve. The sleeve is Very Good with a price sticker tear on the front & a number annotation on the back, as well as some additonal age wear scuffing. The vinyl remains in Excellent condition with few signs of play).
WARM DUST Peace In Our Time (Underrated & now very hard to find original 1971 UK 8-track LP on the Trend label, the band’s second album, gatefold picture sleeve with lyrics inside. This reviewer’s copy has the dymotape sticker used to catalogue his archive on the top right corner, otherwise both the sleeve & vinyl are Near Mint – a superb copy of this classic!).
