Our jazz rarities this week include original pressings of albums from Keith Tippet and George Wallington, both of which are very hard to find now, and an excellent audiophile reissue from J.R. Monterose.

KEITH TIPPETT Blueprint (1972 UK orange RCA Victor label 6-track stereo LP, starring Roy Babbington [bass], Keith Bailey and Frank Perry [percussion], plus Julie Tippetts on guitar and voice, produced by Robert Fripp at Command for Ronnie Scott Directions Ltd, with strictly no electronics involved – the sounds are acoustic with all music improvised. The front laminated picture sleeve is Excellent with just a little faint, natural age wear & the vinyl remains seldom played. A lovely copy SF8290).
GEORGE WALLINGTON The George Wallington Trio (Rare 1956 US 12-track mono LP that also features two Septet tracks, despite the title. With the comforting ‘RVG’ etched into the run off area, this album also features teh talents of Kai Winding, Gerry Mulligan, Max Roach, Buddy Stewart, Brew Moore, Jerry Floyd, Curley Russell & Charlie Perry, pasted picture sleeve with tape repaired seams. The sleeve shows just a little light shelfwear & the vinyl remains excellent with little sign of play. A nice copy of this hard to find fifty five year old release! MG12081).
J.R. MONTEROSE J.R. Monterose (2011 US limited edition 6-track ‘Blue Note The Definitive 45RPM Reissue Series’ remastered Double LP set pressed on Audiophile quality 45rpm 180 Gram Heavyweight Vinylby Music Matters Ltd., originally released in 1956 recorded by Rudy Van Gelder with backing from Ira Sullivan, Horace Silver, Wilbur Ware & Philly Joe Jones; within an high quality interal pasted front laminated heavy card gatefold picture sleeve. The sleeve displays minimal wearand the vinyl looks barely played MMBLP-1536).
